Mandatory Childhood Experience
Posted in Cameron's Chronicles, Jackson's Jaunts by: KaterThank you, Goddie Gee
Posted in Jackson's Jaunts by: KaterHmmm, big box at the doorstep as we came home on April 21st? We applaud your awesome timing, Miss Angie. As you can see, we couldn’t wait a mo before tearing open the packages…and….
SUCCESS:
(Cameron likes to help)
And…
…SUPER success (although methinks Dada and Momma were most pleased with the fact that it folds into a STORAGE BIN for all things three-yrs-old-and-tripfactor under!):
We miss you very much, love you even more, and can’t wait to see you in August…or sooner!!
Thank you Grandpeeps Hopkins
Posted in Cameron's Chronicles, Jackson's Jaunts by: Kater“Dear Grandma and Grampa Hopkins, thanks you for the awesome shirtastic. I’m quite fond of myself in this shirt and hope to share the use of this remote with you as thanks.
As you can see, I’m constantly on the move but I am pleased to report that this shirt, being 100% awesome cotton (Momma’s FAVE!), moves with me…
Quick breather…
And I’m off! See you on the flip side, yo!”
SurvivorToddler
Posted in Cameron's Chronicles, Jackson's Jaunts by: Kater(music pukkapukka) Narrator: All seems quiet on the wooden terrain. The quilty shelter of the SurvivorToddler has seen no precipitation nor winds for some time.
Narrator: After a luxurious sleep-in, uncharacteristic of a survivor this age, he finally pokes his head out to take a gander. Its still quiet, but this survivor can tell there’s something, or someONE, afoot.
Not seconds later, the giant appears. SurvivorToddler slows his breathing after retreating swiftly into his shelter and waits for the danger to pass.
Choosing a different, and assuredly safer route, SurvivorToddler once again leaves his secure lair. But what will he do today? Climb a chair? Play cars? Maybe fold some laundry…No matter what he spends his time doing, this toddler knows exactly what to watch out for. (music dihhidihii, and strains of the harmonica)
Two Kids: One Daycare
Posted in Jackson's Jaunts by: KaterThis was a big week for Jackson. On Wednesday he started daycare with Cameron. I am so excited for him to be in a place where he can make some friends and hang out with his big brother. Cameron’s style won’t be too cramped because Jackson only has a part time spot for April so Cameron still has Tuesdays and Thursdays on his own with his posse while Jax is at home with Dada.
We planned for his first day to be a short one so we dropped him off at 9am and my super awesome boss let me leave early so I could pick him up after nap. He only slept for an hour but was reported to have had a good day. He was a bit fried in the evening time and by 6:30pm we made the executive decision to put him to bed because he was over-exhausted.
Yesterday was a much longer day for Jackson as we dropped him off at our usual 8:30am and I only picked them up at 4pm. Jackson slept for the full two hours and again was reported to have had an enjoyable time. At home he was pretty tired and again we put him to bed early. He talked to himself a bit before settling in for the night.
We’re trying to adjust Jackson’s schedule to be consistent with the one he’ll have at daycare, eventually full time (in May), and this morning Cameron and Arras are at dance class so I thought Jackson and I could have a relaxing low energy morning to prep him for 12:30pm naptime. But while I was upstairs I noticed it got very quiet downstairs. When I got back down Jackson was awake, but looking pretty glassy-eyed and there was a telling red pressed-in splotch on his cheek…and a matching one on his right arm…I picked him up and he promptly fell asleep on my shoulder. Cutest thing EVER. I wish I could carry him around with me all day like that but I have chores to do and mimosas to drink so for now he’s down on the couch. We’ll have to try for a 12:30pm nap another time. This boy is TIRED!
